After a month of researching digital cameras and 2 weeks of test-use, I declare this is indeed the great sequel to the A85. I was sold on the recommendations of Canon (good image quality, quick shutter, scene settings, etc) but still wanted to pocket the camera to capture impromptu photo moments -- thought about the smaller SD series, but read about lots of LCD's cracking. This is a sturdy camera, but lightweight (only takes 2 batteries instead of the A75-95 series' 4). Have been impressed with clarity and color of photos, indoor and out, and the 4x optical zoom (3x seems to be the standard for comparable cameras). Great for point-and-shoot as well as those who want some control over light and other settings.
