The Canon PowerShot S2 IS is the sequel to an extremely popular long zoom camera, the 3.2 megapixel PowerShot S1 IS. This camera is clearly aimed to compete with the other compact big-zoom club. Changes compared to the S1 include a body redesign, five megapixel CCD, a bigger zoom lens, DIGIC II, faster continuous shooting, night display function, stereo audio recording and a larger LCD monitor. With full exposure flexibility, it is most suited to beginner and serious amateur photographers looking for an ultra zoom digital camera with image stabilization.
