The Canon S830D is another in a long line of Bubble Jet printers geared toward the photo enthusiast. In essence, it's a standalone photo lab. With it, you can print photos directly from compatible cameras, a wide range of camera-memory media (including CompactFlash, SmartMedia, and Memory Stick), and, of course, a PC. Unfortunately, the text and graphics output from this pricey offering just don't measure up to the competition's.

Perfect color matching right out of the box, blazing fast for photo printing and low cost of consumables. Does not oversaturate the prints like the HP7550 and is 4 times faster for photo printing. I returned the HP 7550 for this printer (After running out of ink after 35 8x10s) and bought this instead. Have printed close to 60 8.5x11's (Borderless!) and still have plenty of ink left, loads lower cost per page than HP. The colors and detail in dark areas is much better than the HP 7550, and anyone who says otherwise has not owned both printers. For photo printing, there is not much better out there!
