The Stylus Photo 1280 is designed for the advanced amateur / prosumer market, with a wider 13-inch paper feed that allows printing of borderless 11 x 14-inch prints, as well as 13 x 44-inch panoramas, expanded software options, and optional Ethernet and Postscript RIPing software.
Using Epson's new Border Free photo printing technology, the 1280 can make borderless prints in standard photographic sizes, including 4 x 6-, 5 x 7-, 8 x 10- and 11x14 inch. It accepts single sheets of paper up to 13x19 inches, in varying weights and sizes, plus envelopes, cards, transparencies, film, self-adhesive sheets, and stickers.
The Epson Stylus Photo 1280 is a fantastic inkjet printer, and certainly among the most affordable options for making prints as wide as 13 inches.

I received my 1280 Photo printer a week ago and I've had the Epson Photo 2000P printer for about a year.In my opinion the 2000P printer was the best photo printer that Epson ever made, I've owned their last seven photo printers. I decided to test both printers using the same color photo taken with a Nikon CoolPix 990 and color corrected in Photoshop. The photo I used was a 5 x 7, 9mb file size with a 288 ppi resolution.I printed the photo out with both printers at the same time, using 1440 dpi on both printers using Epson Premium Luster Paper. The printout quality of both photos was about the same "Excellent". The 1280 took about 4 minutes and the 2000P took a little over 6 minutes to print out.I thought the 2000P was quiet, the 1280 hardly makes a sound, thats how quiet it is. I also printed out the same photo using 2880dpi on the 1280. It took 13 minutes to print out and to be honest with you, of the 3 pictures I printed out it would be very hard to tell the difference between the 3 photos with the naked eye. The bottom line is both printers are great. The 1280 is a very quiet printer and faster than the 2000P printer but the 2000P has archival qualities. Forget about printing text I use my Stylus 900 which is a speed demon for text. I'm very happy with both Photo printers.
