Press Release: Norderstedt, August 2004 - Outwardly it shows cool understatement, but inside it hides a real power package: CASIO's new digital camera EXILIM Pro EX-P700. The new generation from the EXILIM Pro category totally meets the high technical demands that the ambitious photographer puts on his equipment. With 7.2 megapixels picture definition and light-intense Canon lens with 4x optical zoom, the EX-P700 goes far beyond the usual standards. A whole host of extras pave the photographer's way to professional pictures of excellent quality. In addition, with its black, matt-shiny body the camera will appeal to everyone who attaches importance to how his equipment looks.
Whether you're at a fashion show or a premiere party: poor light conditions and the dynamics of the event are a challenge to any professional. The EXILIM EX-P700 masters such situations thanks to its light-intense lens and reliable SUPER LIFE-battery. The camera is ready to use after approx. 2 seconds focus on your motif, press the shutter release and voilą - the stars of the evening appear in the large, high-definition 2-inch TFT colour display. The camera captures the spectacular performances of the premiere guests with the EXILIM Engine with shutter release time lag of only approx. 0.01 seconds. The high-speed hybrid auto focus system with the new Auto Macro function, which switches independently from auto focus into macro mode and back if required, enables fast and extremely variable focusing to give you a crystal clear picture of the unusual robes and beaming faces. In addition to the spot auto focus, the user can also operate the multi field auto focus, which automatically sights the nearest object through seven different measuring points. Additionally, the focus area is freely selectable via the free auto focus area. The Multi Bracketing function also gives the owner of the EXILIM Pro EX-P700 a lot of design leeway. It allows him to produce pictures with different parameters within a series of exposures (e.g. b/w, sepia or colour). And if a picture has turned out too dark due to poor lighting conditions, the innovative Flash Assist function automatically lightens up the picture where necessary. Users who are keen to experiment appreciate having fast access to the basic settings with the EX-Key such as the camera's white balance or ISO settings. The EX-Finder visualises the currently designated parameters of the camera very clearly. The Manual Assist function helps to determine aperture and exposure time and using examples, shows the photographer what results he will achieve with different manual settings. The BESTSHOT function of the EX-P700 offers quite different possibilities. It keeps 27 prerecorded scenes for different picture situations on standby, such as soft-focus lens or sport motifs. The Business Shot motif programme is brand new: trapezium-shaped distorted side views of a presentation chart are converted into a straight front view with the aid of this polished BESTSHOT programme. This multitude of photographic possibilities allows the EX-P700 user to retain the overview thanks to the practical Icon Help function; it explains the symbols of the respective photo-mode.
"Get the big picture" - this slogan not only includes individual pictures and serial shots, but also films with sound and no time limit. Thanks to varied connection possibilities, photos and films can be transferred directly to the television or PC. Moreover, the EX-P700 supports PictBridge and the USB Direct Print Standard. The infrared remote control, which belongs to the basic equipment, enables cableless execution of a lot of functions. The external flash connection, optionally available lens adapter, ancillary lens and filter for different image effects provide optimum compatibility of the multi-talent.
The delivery package includes the SUPER LIFE-battery and charger, a USB and AV cable, a carrying strap as well as software on CD-ROM. The EXILIM Pro EX-P700 will be available from specialist stores from beginning of October.
