Convenient
The data stored on a memory card can be converted to a computer in different ways: via the equipment that stored the data or via a cardreader or adaptor. The cardreader has to be inserted in the computer only once and then becomes a steady part of the computer configuration. By putting the memory card into the cardreader the data can be converted to the computer without the interference of a digital camera, MP3 player etc. Conversion of the data happens through USB connection and therefore it happens very fast. There is no need to use electricity or battery: the cardreader gets its energy directly from the computer. The stored data increases every day, so the conversion tends to get slower, takes more time, which affects the battery capacity of a digital camera.
