Introduction
Sanyo introduces the new Sanyo Xacti E6, an ultra-thin digital camera from the Xacti series. Apart from the 3x internal optical zoom the special characteristics of the Sanyo E6 are an impressive large 3-inch (7,32 cm) LCD display, MPEG4 format video recording and a so called Touch-Sensor. This new feature should improve the reaction of the Sanyo Xacti E6. The Touch-Sensor is in fact a short-cut to focus faster on a subject. By touching the release button on top of the camera the Sanyo E6 is already ready to capture the image, you can compare it with half-pressing a ordinary shutter release button of a digital camera. By integrating this new features Sanyo improves the reaction time by 0.05 seconds. 3-inch LCD display Sanyo's latest Xacti E6 digital camera offers a huge display, 3-inch! This is something we would like to see more and to our information you can expect more introductions from manufactures like Sony who are also working on a digital camera model with 3-inch and more displays! The new Sanyo Xacti E6 offers 3-inch which enables the users to experience the 'golden moment' on a big screen. Seeing your captured moment and being able to shared it with your friends or family is the power of digital photography, a 3-inch display helps! Full featured menu Enlarging the LCD display will create a difficult task for the camera's engineer. How to place all those buttons on the back of the camera? Despite the fact of the 3-inch, 230,000 pixels, LCD display there is still room for some buttons, but most of the features will be have to be integrated into the menu of the Xacti E6 digital camera. The same goes for the optical zoom, the days are over for ultra-thin digital camera having a external optical zoom, it all happens inside of the camera. The internal optical zoom lens offers a focal length of 38-114mm, providing a brightness of f/3.3 - 4.0. The Sanyo E6 has a 1./2.5-inch CCD image sensor and captures still images with a resolution of 6 Megapixels. The images are stored on the internal memory of 16MB or on an external Secure Digital or MultiMedia Card. Photo and Video Still images can be captured in a resolution of 2816x2112 effective pixels, but also knows an interpolated resolution of 10 Megapixels (3680x2760 pixels). Besides still images the Sanyo Xacti E6 offers a MPEG4 video clip mode. MPEG 4 recording has an advantage of capturing VGA quality video clips that are not too large in words of an image file, but still preserves a good quality. The E6 provides various digital effects like black and white, sepia and other effects, but keeps photography simple by offering only automatic functions, no manual settings like aperture of shutter speed settings. For energy the Sanyo Xacti E6 digital camera uses a Lithium Ion battery. The upcoming IFA 2005 event in Berlin (2 - 7 September), where LetsGoDigital will cover the show live from the show floor, may be the first place for Sanyo to show the camera in public.
