IntroductionTokina has launched the all-new AT-X 124 AF PRO DX lens, with focal range of 12mm F4 - 24mm F22, designed specifically for Canon and Nikon digital SLR cameras with an APS-C sized sensor. The ultra wide-angle zoom has the equivalent of an 18-36mm zoom range on a 35mm film camera, while maintaining a bright constant aperture of F4. The Tokina AT-X 124 lens incorporates Tokina?s key technology with fast internal focusing using Tokina?s One Touch focus clutch mechanism which allows the lens to AF focus faster and switching between auto and manual focus is as easy as snapping the focus ring back and forth. The Tokina AT-X 124 AF PRO DX is due in the UK in September and has a SRP of ?399.99 (inc vat).
Aspherical The Tokina AT-X 124 lens also features 2 sharp-cut aspherical elements, which accurately correct aspherical aberration usually associated with ultra wide-angle lenses. Tokina?s SD Super Low Dispersion technology allows plenty of light for shooting a wide variety of shots at a constant bright f4. Professional features include a non-rotating 77mm filter thread. The lens is constructed with a chrome plated brass mount plate and all-metal zoom unit, which will withstand regular use. The main outer lens barrels are made of advanced polycarbonate, which reduces the overall weight making it easy to carry.
